Harley smiled his ruggedly dazzling smile, "There that wasn't too hard was it?"
He turned to Cricket, "I'll do it, but can you stop calling in favours? I'm pretty sure that by this time its you who owes me."
"Any time Bob..." Cricket said nonchalantly.
Harley frowned and went to work searching the nework for this guy.

Tara told herself to focus. No getting distracted by police. What was wrong with her? There was a little girl in her care who was being hunted and she was making goo goo eyes.

He finished with his computer and a few pages of documents spewed from the printer. Cricket snatched them up and carefully shoved them into her bag.
"That should be all you need..." Harley said.
"Yah, sure. Hey, I owe you now so if you want a date..." Cricket sid leaving the offer open and gave and unidentifiable smirk when his eyes did an unscrutable flicker towards Tara.
They left the office with more information than they'd had before.

Tara glared at Cricket. "Don't think I don't know what you were doing." "What? I wasn't doing anything," cricket smiled, trying to be innocent. "Don't lie to me. I'm a frickin' psychic." OOC: is that ok Cricket?

"Ok, he is pretty hot. But that's not the point. He's older. And like, an officer and stuff." "You got a point?" "Yeah. You really shouldn't use you friends to pay back favors," Tara said, then smiled to show Cricket she was joking. "Not that I wouldn't mind, seeing as how it's to help a little girl and such."

Cricket's grin widened, "Ooh!" She said in a teasing fashion. Aireyn rolled his eyes and walked quickly ahead from the older girls.
"Anyway, he's not that much older than you. He just turned 21...Ok, maybe it is a little creepy. But lets say we save it for a rainy day when your 18 or older?"
They both laughed and headed back tot he cafe to analyse the background check.

"Wow," said Tara when they were going over the background check. "This guy has a track record that makes Suddam Hussain (totally didn't spell that right, no offense to muslim ppls) look like a saint. Armed robbery, Arson, Sexual harassment. It's a wonder they left him in the care of a child at all."

"I don't think they did..." Alistair interrupted, "Amelia says the kids mother is an addict of some sort and he was her boyfriend until she went of the deep end and left her kid with him to do...other things..."
The two girls grimaced.
"Looks like he's been a repete offender multiple times. We got our work cut out for us..." Cricket said reading over Tara's shoulder.
They entered the cafe and headed up to the second floor where the little girl was asleep near Amelia.

"I guess we have to talk to her," Tara sighed. "I really don't want to have to subject her to that pain, but she might know where he is."

Amelia gently shook the little girl awake.
"Sweetness..." She said quietly, "I need you to tell us your address...would your moms boyfriend be there?"

The little girl's eyes were wide with fear. "I can't tell you. He'll kill me." "We won't let him hurt you, love," Tara comforted. "But we need to know so we can stop him. Please tell us." The girl swallowed and answered. "4729 Terrace Rd, in the Village."

Cricket leaned in and gently smoothed back the little girls hair from her forehead. She kissed her head lightly and whispered, "Thanks for being so brave ducks..."
The little girl was improving, slowly, but improvement was still there. She showed a whisp of a smile and then she huddled back into Amelia's embrace.
Tara and Cricket moved to the stairs.
"Now should we let them know? Or do we still need to scope this out ourselves?" Cricket asked.

OOC: Sure, I'll add Olive... some of my others might have cameos... but Olive will be main in this story. Olive Dawson flicked off sweat on her forehead, as she wearily went into the locker room. She felt some snobby cheerleaders, throw insults, and paper balls at her, with insults on them. After a month into the season, she knew what to expect, as she walked on, changing from her sweaty clothes, into a quick shower, and throwing on some Cargo's, on a black halter, and a blue tee, and putting her brown hair in a ponytail, she grabbed her field hockey bag, backpack, and laptop, and got in a taxi, throwing it a twenty. "28th, 289." she told the driver. As he sped off, Olive got out her homework, by the time he got there, she finished her homework, and left the taxi, grabbing her gear, heading to a different, which really wasn't 289.
