After being caught in a mysterious photo, Oona has disappeared. The photo showed her about to jump off the Empire State Building, although witnesses claimed she didn't fall. What has happened to her?? The Irregulars are thinking someone kidnapped her, and she is likely to be hidden under the Shadow City. But everyone has to split up, and go deeper into the Shadow City then they ever have before, discovering its mysterious past, more then they wanted to know. Or else, Oona will die. Sincerely, -The Breakfast Club

Cricket had been involved in a few adventures since coming to New York and meeting the Irregulars, but now the city seemed to be going through a dull phase. (If anyone could ever call New York dull). School had been getting more and more tedious, considering that as much as she had a reading level above most of her peers she still couldn't master basic arithmetic.
However, just when things were getting too boring to contemplate, Cricket walked past the Empire State Building.
Through the crowds of people trying to get to where ever they were going looking at their shoes stood a girl who was stopped staring straight up. Cricket slowly came to a stop beside her and mimicked her pose. Up on the empire state building was a girl who looked like she was about to jump. Cricket reached into her bag for the opera glasses she carried around. Peeking through them she could also see two men, both armed, who seemed to be telling her to come away from the edge. One of them raised his gun and then she jumped. An almost transparent wire around her waist.
Cricket raised an eyebrow in wonderment. Then turned and walked off down the street. A few moments later she got a text from the Irregulars. Oona was gone, and there was a picture attached of the girl Cricket had seen on the building. Well, Cricket thought, at least she's not dead.

Lydia ran to the meeting, running into the elderly, and dogs. She turned sharply, and ran into Alice's apartment.
"Sorry I'm late." she panted. "Show choir ran late."
"Come in." said Alice. Once Lydia got settled, sitting next to Danielle Kiki stood up, to address the group.
"The reason, I called this meeting, is that Oona has disappeared. This is the last picture we saw her." She smacked the board, with one of Alice's rulers.
"Now, does anyone have any ideas, or clues?" Kiki asked.

Cricket was settled in with the rest for the meeting. Kiki asked if anyone had clues or ideas. Well, I might as well say what I know and hope someone gets something out of it...
Cricket raised her hand to catch the groups attention and told them about the incident she had witnessed. She told them about the little girl she had seen in the street, about the two guys behind Oona, and about the transparent rope tied around Oona's waist as she jumped from the building. Of course no one saw her fall, she wasn't free falling but jumping in a controlled manner.

"But why would she jump?" tara wondered. "The question isn't why would she jump argued Kiki. She jumped because those men where holding guns on her and she knew she'd be safe. The questions are why would those men pull guns on her? and why was she wearing a wire?

"maybe they weren't telling her to come back from the edge but forcing her to jump" said Indigo "like as some sort of way to blackmail us or something, but, no, they couldn't blackmail us if we thought she was dead, maybe so we wouldn't look for her but they'd have to know we'd look for her if her body didn't show up, yeah, umm, never mind"

Cricket chewed at her lip and then voiced her opinion, "Well, what if Oona knew they were on her tail? Not saying why they were following her, nor for that matter how, but she knew. So she prepared a trap setting up the wire, attaching it before they got there and simply waiting for the right moment. When she refused to join the guys quietly they pulled the gun on her, she jumps, they run to the edge...after all who wouldn't. Now they see the wire, they see her hanging from it...maybe the trap she used just backfired. This is all hypothetical of course."
Kiki nodded, "Okay, but its still bodes asking, why would she need a trap? Why were they following her?"

"and who were they?" added indigo
"This is of course assuming that it is Oona" said Lacey in a lovely sarcastic tone "The picture doesn't show her face and no one could see more than outlines from the ground unless they had binoculars"
"which Cricket had by the way" indigo reminded her, Lacey fell silent

Alice slapped down something on the table, it was photo's of Oona building jump.
"I found these online, check it out. She looks determined, but kinda frightened. Weird huh?"

"No, that's definitely her" Kiki said.
"Yup, that's how it looked. I didn't catch anything after that. Places to go, people to see. But we could always ask the little girl..." Cricket suggested.
"And how do you propose we do that..." Kiki inquired with a rise of he eyebrow.
Cricket imitated her facial expression, "By giving the kid a call" she replied and held out an "If I'm Lost" card swiped from the kids backpack.

"That's devious," said Tara, grinning. "Does it have an adress?"

"Yup. All the personal info a good citizen could want!" Cricket said cheerfully, then muttered, "All the personal info a stalker could want too"
"And what do you propose we use as an excuse?"
"She dropped her phone" Cricket supplied, holding out the suggested article.

Tara was going to ask how she got her phone but decided to not. She was beginning to learn that with Cricket it was better not to ask. "How do we say we know who it belongs to?" she asked. the last thing they needed to show up looking suspicous.

"See if its got something like 'home' or 'mom' or 'dad' in the address book" instructed Indigo, "then we'll just claim to be in the area and offer to drop it by"

"You wanna call?" asked. "I would, but you know, i'll be more recognizable with the accent and all and we want to be interchangable if at all possible."
