The twins were 16.
Aireyn sat in one of the darkest corners of the Forgotten Path. He rocked back and forth, tears from his eyes no longer flowing but drying into sticky trails down his cheeks.
Today he hadn't been able to save someone. The scars on their body and the scars on their mind had left them permanently damaged. It made it even worse that this person had been what Amelia called his life bond, like a soul mate she said only the bond was so deep that they couldn't help but love each other. Her name was Lilly...
*Flash back of the memories he saw in Lilly's mind*
Lilly grew up in a small appartment on the east side of the island. She was one of the most beautiful children anyone had ever seen. Her mother Kerowyn was more than usually plain and thus Lilly grew up with no father figures. However, no one in the small east town could deny that Kero made the perfect mother.
Lilly grew into a fine young woman, her milk white skin was flawless and her white blond hair fell in silken strands. Her eyes were a bright blue that drew you in until you became lost in the endlessness of them.
Her mother was dating a man who was nice to Lilly but it didn't seem as if he really loved Kero.
One day he proposed and a moth later they were married. Lilly knew she should feel happy for her mom but all she could feel was the invisible pressure of the mans cold evil eyes following her as she walked with her mother up the isle.
Two weeks later her mother didn't come home. She had just come from Aireyns and didn't really notice anything was wrong in her love filled daze until it started to get really late. Then he came home. There were trails of blood up his arms and he carried a round of thick rope in his hands, the hilt of a silver knife stuck out from his boot.
"Come here beautiful..." He whispered.
Lilly made to run but he caught her and carried her out to a cart in the front. Bound and gagged all Lilly could do was watch as the cart moved them down Bad road and turned onto the worn out path of Worse. They stopped at a worn down cottage hidden in the middle of the trees.
He pulled her off the cart and roughly threw her into the little house, there was an old metal frame bed with a worn out matress. He tied her to it and forced himself on her.
Pain.
Pain.
Pain.
*end flashback*
That monster had slashed her face with the silver knife from eye to chin in the shape of trailing tears.
"Aireyn?" Came a far off voice.
"Aireyn." Yarrowbell came around the wall and knelt beside him.
She didn't have anything to say. By right the death of his life bonded should have killed him. She gathered him in her arms and waited as the tears formed up again. He needed to cry it all out, by trying to heal Lilly Aireyn had opened himself up to her memories and experienced them as if they were his own. Then she would go after that bastard and kill him herself.
